Character and identity
Camp Creek Inn opened in 2023 on the Florida Panhandle, less than two miles northwest of Alys Beach, and trades coastal bustle for a quieter, wellness-led setting among the pines. All 75 rooms sit within a single three-story, estate-style building defined by soaring windows, brick fireplaces and tiered balconies, with interiors in wooden tones, cream palettes and exposed brick. The grounds wrap around a Tom Fazio golf course, two 7,000-square-foot zero-entry pools, a lazy river, a wellness center with lap pool and hot tub, eight clay tennis courts, eight pickleball courts and bonfire areas. Service runs warm and resort-casual.
Who's it for
Best for:
Active couples and families who want a sporty, wellness-leaning base on 30A without the density of the beach towns. Golfers in particular get serious value, with the Fazio course on site and shuttle access to Greg Norman's Shark's Tooth course ten minutes away. Tennis and pickleball players, and anyone who likes a pool day, will be happy.
Should look elsewhere:
Travellers who want to walk straight onto the sand. The beach experience here runs through a shuttle to the private Watersound Beach Club rather than a beachfront room. Urban-minded guests and those who prefer a buzzy scene with multiple signature restaurants will find this too contained.
Bottom line
The pull here is the sports and wellness campus, golf, racquets, pools and a lazy river, paired with private beach club access by shuttle rather than direct seafront. Book it if you want an active 30A stay with Alys Beach minutes away; spring for the 750-square-foot Pine Suite with its private balcony if golf views and space matter.
