Character and identity
A 63-room members' club hotel that opened in spring 2021, the Clayton sits in the polished shopping-and-gallery district of Cherry Creek, about 15 minutes from downtown Denver. AvroKO designed the rooms with a modernist palette nodding to Colorado peaks, timber architecture, and gold-rush history: rosy half-frosted mirrors, banquette seating, brass and fluted-glass lighting. The rooftop pool, fitness centre with Peloton and Woodway kit, and a sharp NINE dot ARTS collection set the tone. Kini's, the Quality Branded Greek-island restaurant, anchors the food programme, with the Cretans wine bar alongside. Service runs warm and casual rather than formal.
Who's it for
Best for:
Design-literate millennial couples and solo travellers who want a stylish base with co-working energy by day and a rooftop scene by night. It suits guests who value art, considered interiors, Mediterranean cooking, and being among Cherry Creek's well-dressed digital nomads and power lunchers.
Should look elsewhere:
Families with kids, anyone wanting traditional luxury-hotel polish or butler-grade service, and visitors whose priority is Denver's downtown nightlife and indie restaurant scene. Cherry Creek skews corporate and chain-retail heavy, so expect rideshare bills if you came for RiNo or LoDo.
Bottom line
What defines the Clayton is the members'-club DNA: an art-forward, co-working-friendly social scene with genuinely good Greek cooking attached, rather than a conventional hotel experience. Book it if you want design and atmosphere over polished service rituals, and pick a room high enough to make the most of the rooftop and Kini's. Time a visit around patio season to get the property at full tilt.
