It is small (30 rooms), adults-only, and LEED Gold certified. Inside, the look is natural, modern and minimalist, with SoHo-boutique furniture and balconies in every room. Placita, under chef Alex Espinal, turns out modern Puerto Rican cooking from a mesquite grill and rotisserie; the rooftop bar pulls a music crowd while La Tertulia gathers around a street-level fire pit.
