Character and identity
Set in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward on the site of a former utility headquarters, FORTH cuts a striking silhouette with what is reportedly the world's only cement cast exoskeleton, the work of the team behind nearby Ponce City Market. Inside, 196 rooms sit above a confidently mid-century interior of leather couches, layered patterns and conversation-piece art, including pieces by Butch Anthony. The food and drink programme runs deep: Il Premio for modern Italian steakhouse cooking, Elektra for Mediterranean breakfasts and kebabs, a rooftop lounge called Moonlight, a members-and-guests parlour called The Club, and a street-level café feeding Beltline walkers.
Who's it for
Best for:
Design-literate couples and weekenders who want a stylish urban base within walking distance of Ponce City Market and the Beltline. Food-focused travellers will get real mileage from Il Premio's wagyu and Elektra's branzino, and the rooftop and pool deck reward guests who treat the hotel itself as the destination.
Should look elsewhere:
Families wanting a kids' programme, traditionalists who prefer restrained, classic interiors, and anyone needing to be on top of the downtown convention district. The layered prints, eclectic art and members'-club atmosphere read as confident rather than corporate, which is the point.
Bottom line
The draw here is a genuinely original design statement paired with serious cooking, dropped onto one of Atlanta's best walking corridors. Book it if you want style, a strong restaurant scene without leaving the building, and easy access to the Beltline; ask for a room with a Butch Anthony piece, and plan at least one dinner at Il Premio.
