Character and identity
Foxhill Manor is an eight-key country house (five bedrooms, three suites) set in a 1909 stone building in the Cotswolds, sister property to the nearby Dormy. The interiors lean Scandinavian against the period bones: retro leather swivel chairs, orange semi-circular sofas, fur rugs, original fireplaces. Bathrooms run to the size of small flats. Service blurs hotel and house party, with a personal host on call around the clock but an open pantry and a self-serve library bar cart. Chef Curtis Stewart cooks a farm-to-table menu with a playful streak, including chicken liver parfait served in brioche ice-cream cones.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples and small friend groups who want a private country retreat with serious cooking, design-led interiors, and the run of a manor rather than a formal hotel. The 24/7 host, screening room burger nights, and valley walks suit guests who value discretion (the celebrity clientele is telling) and casual luxury over polished ceremony.
Should look elsewhere:
Families with young children, travellers who want a big-resort spa and dining scene, and anyone who prefers the anonymity of a larger hotel. With only eight rooms and a house-party register, those who like crowds, choice of restaurants, or formal service should look at the Dormy or further afield.
Bottom line
What you're paying for is the run of a small private manor with a real chef in the kitchen and a host who anticipates everything. Book it as a couple or a takeover with friends, splurge on one of the three suites for the bathroom alone, and reserve the screening room for a Stewart-grilled burger night.
