Character and identity
Spilling down the Oia cliffside in a cascade of whitewashed cubes, arched ceilings and private verandas, Katikies Santorini is a 25-room boutique perch with the caldera laid out below. Three infinity pools step down the rock face, each angled at the Aegean. Dining runs across Mikrasia, an open-air, candlelit room drawing on Anatolian cooking, Seltz Champagne Bar & Restaurant for Greek-Asian plates and bubbles, and the casual Pool Bar & Restaurant. There's no on-site spa, but guests use A.SPA at sister property Katikies Kirini, a short walk or complimentary transfer away.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples and honeymooners after a design-led, view-saturated stay in Oia, with sunset cocktails, long pool afternoons, and romantic candlelit dinners above the water. Design literates who appreciate the pared-back, all-white minimalism will feel at home, as will guests who want curated island tours (archaeological visits, winery stops) arranged privately.
Should look elsewhere:
Families with younger children: the hotel only accepts ages 13 and up. Anyone wanting a full destination spa on property, a beachfront setting, or step-free access will struggle here, given the cliffside stairs and the seven-minute walk to the affiliated spa.
Bottom line
What you're paying for is the caldera view and the choreography around it: three infinity pools, terraces on every room, and a dining scene built around the sunset. Book a suite with a private plunge pool if the budget allows, target shoulder season (April-May or October-November) for thinner crowds and softer rates, and remember the property closes over winter.
