Character and identity
Set in Belltown a short walk from Pike Place and the waterfront, the Palladian is a 97-room boutique that leans into Kimpton's playful design language with a particularly assured hand. The lobby pairs dark walls and a white antique fireplace with portraits of Pacific Northwest icons (Gates, Grammer, Dave Matthews) staring down at leather armchairs. Rooms layer in easel TV stands, David Bowie cushions and steampunk-leaning bathrooms with clawfoot tubs and brass fixtures. Downstairs, Shaker + Spear handles oysters and seafood in an airy room, while Pennyroyal pours cocktails under brass accents. Service is warm, pet-obsessed and unfussy.
Who's it for
Best for:
Design-minded couples and solo travellers who want personality over polish, and dog owners in particular. The pet programme runs deep enough that the concierge will arrange dog-walking while you're out. Cocktail drinkers, oyster eaters and Kimpton loyalists who like the chain's whimsy will feel at home immediately.
Should look elsewhere:
Fitness-focused guests will find the gym cramped (in-room yoga mats are the workaround), and anyone expecting a full-service luxury hotel with spa, pool and multiple restaurants should book a larger property. Families needing space and kid-specific programming won't find it here.
Bottom line
What sets the Palladian apart is tone: a small, design-led hotel that takes its cocktails, seafood and pet guests seriously while keeping the register light. Book it if you want personality, a walkable Belltown base and a strong food and drink scene downstairs. Ask for a Puget Sound-facing room, and travel midweek for the best rates.
