Character and identity
A whitewashed Cycladic property pinned to a cliff just under 1,000 feet from Mykonos Town, Kouros trades on its proximity to the action and its remove from it. The 40 rooms and suites all face the Aegean and the new marina, with a 2022 redesign by Fabienne Spahn introducing black accents, white marble floors and black marble showers to the bright Cycladic palette. The infinity pool and adjacent Narcissus restaurant catch the island's sunsets, and the small Zoe Spa runs treatments alongside a hammam and hot tub. Seasonal: May to October.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples who want a walkable base for Mykonos Town, Little Venice and the windmills without staying inside the noise. Design-minded travellers will appreciate Spahn's contemporary update, and anyone planning late nights out will value the sunset pool, modern Greek cooking at Narcissus and the morning recovery of in-suite breakfast.
Should look elsewhere:
Families wanting a kids' programme, beach-club devotees (this is a town hotel, not a beachfront resort), and anyone after a large-scale spa or multi-restaurant property. Winter travellers should note the May to October season.
Bottom line
The pitch here is location and view: a quiet cliffside perch ten minutes' walk from the heart of Mykonos Town, with every room facing water and a sunset terrace built for it. Book a suite with a private pool or Jacuzzi to make the most of the renovation and the vista, and target shoulder season (May or October) to dodge peak Mykonos pricing and crowds.
