Character and identity
Three soaring towers crowned by a ship-like SkyPark define this 1,850-room landmark on the edge of Marina Bay, and after a 2024 billion-dollar renovation the property splits into two distinct experiences: the broad Sands Collection and the 389-suite Paiza Collection, a hotel-within-a-hotel on the upper floors with private arrival, in-suite check-in and 24-hour butlers reachable via WhatsApp. More than 80 food and drink venues sit downstairs, among them Waku Ghin, CUT, Mott 32 and estiatorio Milos. The 57th-floor infinity pool, the world's largest rooftop pool, is guests-only. Service in the Paiza tier runs polished and personal; the wider complex feels civic in scale.
Who's it for
Best for:
Travellers who want to be in the thick of Singapore's most photographed address, with the casino, the pool and a stable of celebrity-chef restaurants under one roof. The Paiza Collection suits design-minded couples and high-spenders who value butler service, themed suites (Horizon for wellness, Presidential with golf simulator, Chairman for entertaining) and the Paiza Sky Residence lounge with its whiskey bar and tea ceremony.
Should look elsewhere:
Anyone after a quiet, intimate retreat will find the public areas cavernous, crowded and a little chaotic, with tour groups, conference traffic and pool-seeking day visitors part of daily life. The standard Sands Collection rooms, while smart, do not deliver the seclusion that the price tag and skyline imply.
Bottom line
The split personality is the whole story here: book the Paiza Collection and you get one of Asia's most considered butler experiences, a private lounge and suites with golf simulators or Himalayan salt caves; book the Sands side and you are sharing the lifts with the crowds. Rates from around $2,125 are steep, so commit to a Paiza Royal suite or stay elsewhere.
