Character and identity
Set on a 47-acre estate of hilltops 50 minutes from Udaipur's city centre, near the 8th-century Eklingji Temple, this is the debut property of ITC's experience-led Mementos brand. The 117 villas and suites start at 500 square feet, with sit-outs, plunge pools and gardens depending on category, and views over either the Aravalli valley or the lake. Interiors lean on gold accents against muted palettes, with Victorian-style tubs in some bathrooms. Dining runs across all-day Udai Pavilion, ITC's vegetarian Royal Vega, Kebabs & Kurries, and sunset drinks at The Rock Bar by the infinity pool. The Kaya Kalp spa anchors wellness; service is butler-led and quietly attentive.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples and multigenerational families who want Udaipur's lake-and-Aravalli scenery without the old city's crowds, and who'll actually use the bespoke programming: moonlight yoga, telescope sessions on a private deck, breakfast by the lake, birdwatching. Also a strong pick for destination weddings and pilgrims basing themselves near Eklingji, Nathdwara and Shrinathji.
Should look elsewhere:
Travellers who want to walk out into Udaipur's ghats, palaces and bazaars should stay in town; the hour-long transfer wears thin. The hilly site means a lot of buggy-shuttling, and anyone after high-energy nightlife or a beach-resort vibe will find it too quiet and remote.
Bottom line
What you're paying for here is space, silence and the curated experience layer: point at a hilltop and the team will stage breakfast, yoga or stargazing on it. Book an Aravali Suite in Villa 22 for the highest vantage and best sunsets, build in at least two nights to justify the drive from the city, and consider shoulder months when the air is coolest.
