Character and identity
Perched on the upper floors of Luminary Tower in the Thamrin Nine complex, Pan Pacific Jakarta is a sky-high urban retreat above one of the city's busiest CBD addresses. The 158 rooms, designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, lean pared-back and contemporary: white walls, warm wood panelling, blue accents, considered seating. Up on the 90th floor sit two of the property's calling cards, Keyaki for modern Japanese under Kyoto-born chef Kunihiro Moroi, and Eden, a botanical sky bar with a zero-waste cocktail programme. A 71st-floor indoor-outdoor lap pool frames the skyline. Service register is calm and low-key.
Who's it for
Best for:
Business travellers who want a quiet, well-run base in the CBD with serious dining on site, plus design-literate couples passing through Jakarta who'll appreciate the architecture, the views, the Pacific Club Lounge ritual, and walkable access to luxury malls and the MRT.
Should look elsewhere:
Families and full-on holidaymakers will find this is primarily a corporate property, not a resort. The pool is shared with the serviced-suites neighbour, and there's no real leisure programme. If you want buzz, beach, or a kids' club, this isn't the address.
Bottom line
The defining draw here is the 90th-floor combination of Keyaki and Eden, paired with rooms and a club lounge that feel genuinely calm above the chaos of central Jakarta. Spend up for a Premier Suite to unlock Pacific Club Lounge access, the wrap-around bathroom, and corner views; book a high-floor stay around a dinner at Keyaki to get the most from the address.
