Character and identity
Raffles Sentosa is the brand's resort-format counterpoint to its century-old city sibling, set on Sentosa Island about 15 minutes from central Singapore. The all-villa layout (more than 62 Yabu Pushelberg-designed villas, each with a private pool and terrace) climbs a hillside threaded with tropical gardens and roaming peacocks. Interiors run sleek and contemporary in neutral tones with coffered ceilings. Dining spans Empire Grill for contemporary Italian, Royal China for Cantonese, omakase sushi, afternoon tea and a greenhouse-style plant-based room. The 12-treatment-room spa anchors a jungle courtyard with plunges, waterfalls and a mud pool. Service is butler-led and properly bespoke.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples and honeymooners who want a private-pool villa within striking distance of a major city, plus design-minded travellers drawn to Yabu Pushelberg interiors, serious spa-goers, and food-led guests who want range without leaving the property. The Rolls-Royce Phantom island tours and poolside qigong suit a slow, indulgent pace.
Should look elsewhere:
Families wanting a beachfront kids' resort, urbanists who'd rather be in Marina Bay or Orchard, and anyone looking for nightlife on the doorstep. Sentosa's theme-park energy is nearby but this property is deliberately sealed off from it.
Bottom line
What you're really paying for is the all-villa privacy with your own pool, butler-drawn baths and the kind of seclusion Singapore rarely offers. Book if you want resort languor with city access on tap, not a sightseeing base. A standard pool villa delivers the core experience; reserve well ahead given the limited villa count, and build in time for the spa.
