Set inside a restored 1914 Belle Epoque mansion in Barranco, Hotel B is Lima's defining art-filled boutique, a Relais & Chateaux member (the city's only one) carrying a Michelin Key since opening in 2013. Expect crown moldings, sky-high ceilings, polished wood floors and heavy shutters, with the owners' contemporary art collection layered floor to ceiling along every hallway. The lobby bar in white marble and moody wood, plus a restaurant lined with oil paintings and plush armchairs, pull in well-heeled Limeños most nights. A rooftop bar and pool are currently under construction.

The draw here is the mansion itself and the art programme inside it, not the service polish, so come ready to be self-sufficient in exchange for a genuinely characterful Barranco address. Book if you value neighbourhood walkability, the included breakfast and afternoon tea, and a lively lobby bar; consider timing your stay after the rooftop pool opens if that matters to you.
