Character and identity
A 878-room high-rise occupying floors four to 21 of a 54-story tower shared with The Ritz-Carlton, this is downtown LA's big-event headquarters, completed in 2010 as the area's first upscale high-rise in two decades. The address is L.A. Live itself: Crypto.com Arena, the Microsoft Theater, the Grammy Museum and the Convention Center are all on the doorstep. Rooms are contemporary and suite-heavy, supported by lively dining, a breezy bar, a fourth-floor pool deck with cabanas, and a 4,000-square-foot fitness centre with skyline views. Guests can also use the Ritz-Carlton Spa upstairs. Service runs efficient and high-volume rather than intimate.
Who's it for
Best for:
Conventioneers, business travellers, and anyone in town for a Lakers, Kings or Clippers game, an awards show, a film premiere, or a Convention Center event. With nearly 100,000 square feet of meeting space across three stacked floors, it is also the obvious choice for corporate planners and large group bookings that need ballrooms, boardrooms and soundstage flexibility under one roof.
Should look elsewhere:
Couples after a quiet, design-led LA weekend, anyone wanting beach proximity or the residential calm of Santa Monica or Beverly Hills, and travellers who prefer boutique scale. With 878 rooms and constant event traffic, lobbies and lifts are busy, and the service register is more efficient than personal.
Bottom line
Location and scale are the whole pitch: nowhere else in LA puts you closer to the arenas, theatres and convention halls of L.A. Live, and the meeting infrastructure is built for it. Book here if your trip revolves around an event on the campus, and consider a higher-floor suite for the view. For a leisure-led LA stay, the Ritz-Carlton floors above or a westside property will serve you better.
