Character and identity
Carved into the rock face some 900 feet above Elia Beach, Myconian Utopia is a whitewashed cliffside retreat where nearly every room, restaurant table and pool deck frames the Aegean. The design language runs natural and tactile: unpolished woods, rough-hewn stone walls, hand-laid tile pathways and island flora providing dappled shade. The infinity pool appears to spill into the sea, with a floating "beach" deck for sun worshippers. At Pavilion, the seasonal Greek menu leans on regional produce (the chef's lamb chops with smoked aubergine puree is the signature). The Sanctuary Spa centres on a candlelit black marble thalassotherapy pool, with Elemis, Ligne St. Barth and Augustinus Bader on the treatment menu.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples and design-minded travellers chasing the postcard Mykonos view without the Chora crowds. The private plunge pools (available across all room categories), spa rituals and sunset dining make this a romantic, slow-paced base. Large groups and multigenerational families should look at the Grand Majestic Villa, which sleeps up to 13.
Should look elsewhere:
Anyone who wants to step straight from their room onto the sand will find the cliffside setting frustrating; reaching Elia means taking the shuttle. Party-seekers wanting to walk home from Mykonos Town nightlife are also better off staying closer to the action.
Bottom line
The view is the product here, and the cliff-perched geography delivers it from almost every vantage point on property. Book a room with a private plunge pool to make the most of the setting, treat the spa and Pavilion's sunset service as core to the stay, and target shoulder season (late May or September) for warm water without peak August rates.
