Triple Creek Ranch
Review
Character and identity
Tucked into the Bitterroot Mountains 90 minutes south of Missoula, Triple Creek Ranch is a 25-cabin, adults-only, all-inclusive retreat on more than 750 forested acres at 4,600 feet, with three creeks running through the property and 26,000 additional acres at sister property The CB Ranch. The design language is upscale rustic: exposed log walls, slate bathrooms, private hot tubs on every cabin. Dining centres on chef Jacob Leatherman's kitchen in the main lodge, and the rhythm is concierge-led, with itineraries set on arrival around fly fishing, riding, skiing, archery and quieter pursuits.
Who's it for
Best for:
Couples after a secluded, activity-rich escape who want the heavy lifting done for them. Particularly strong for anglers (the Orvis-endorsed fly-casting clinics are complimentary), riders, and winter visitors, since the nightly rate folds in lift tickets, rentals and transport to the slopes. Themed weeks (vintner, artist, cowboy school) reward repeat guests.
Should look elsewhere:
Families, full stop: this is adults-only. Travellers who want walkable surroundings, varied restaurants, or a spa-led wellness break will find the remoteness and single-kitchen dining limiting. Note too that guided fishing trips on the Bitterroot, Salmon and Selway rivers are charged on top of the all-inclusive rate.
Bottom line
The draw here is genuine wilderness seclusion paired with a concierge culture that turns 750 acres of Montana into a curated itinerary, with the cabin hot tubs and creekside quiet doing the rest. Book a cabin with a strong creek or forest aspect, come as a couple, and time it to a themed week or ski season when the included lift tickets sharpen the all-inclusive maths.
